CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. When you join a CSA, you subscribe to a farm and receive a portion of the weekly harvest for the duration of the season. 8. Can I skip a week?
Unfortunately, we cannot refund a week to you or give you an extra box at the end of the season. However, if you are going to miss a week you can arrange for a friend or family member to pick up your box and enjoy! Many members do this--friends and family love being "gifted" fresh veggies! You can also request that we donate your box to someone in need.
9. It sounds like too much produce for me. What can I do?
If you think the box would be too much for you, there are a few options! You could split the share with a friend or family member. Many members split with their kids, parents, siblings, or neighbors! It's fun to sort through the box together and decide who is going to cook what. You could also process, freeze or can your extra produce. You will be grateful for the fresh-frozen or canned items when they are no longer in season!
10. What's the benefit of joining a CSA?
The short answer: It is a great way to support your local farmer. It is a great way to eat veggies in season. It's a great way to support sustainably grown food. It's a great way to learn about new veggies and small farms.
