Pecans

In Pointe Coupee parish pecans are taken quite seriously. During the fall and early winter they are gathered up by professionals with machine pickers and any person with hands and good knees. If the price is right, you'll see folks along the highways in the ditches, in parks or on any piece of property picking them up. It's an easy way to earn a little extra money.

We grow a cultivated variety called 'Elliott'. This variety--while not producing every year--allows us to produce excellent quality halves without spraying insecticides or fungicides. We have many trees planted in several different locations throughout the parish to ensure we will have a crop each year.

Pecans are available in the fall and winter. Check back for availability starting in October.
